2020 Shanghai Foreign Investment Guide Released

Shanghai Foreign Investment Development Board recently released the 2020 Shanghai Foreign Investment Guide (the “Guide” hereafter) in both Chinese and English simultaneously through various channels, including the 2020 Briefing on Shanghai’s Commerce and Investment, the Briefing on Shanghai's Investment, the Shanghai Foreign Investment Promotion Service Platform, and the WeChat account “Invest Shanghai”. The Guide provides the latest investment information and industrial development analysis for overseas investors who intend to settle in Shanghai.

To help overseas investors grasp a deeper understanding of Shanghai's key industries, the Guide gives a comprehensive introduction to nine sectors in terms of development trends, regional layout, settled enterprises, favorable policies, and promotion institutions. Selected from the modern service industry, strategic emerging industry and advanced manufacturing industry, the nine sectors are finance, modern commerce, culture and creativity, biomedicine, artificial intelligence, integrated circuit, new energy vehicle, new materials, and high-end energy equipment. Moreover, the Guide also provides a detailed introduction to Shanghai's 16 administrative districts, the Shanghai Pilot Free-Trade Zone (FTZ), the Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone, the Hongqiao Central Business District, the Lingang New Area of the Shanghai Pilot FTZ, and other major functional zones in terms of industry focus, supporting facilities and policy support.
